Designing always requires grids and layouts for neatness and clarity. Yet there are designs that may make you think otherwise. New trends defy the boundaries and sticking to layouts and grinds isn’t their thumb rule, as they just want to have fun. Which in turn makes this interesting and much more open to newness. But still, usually if you are using 90-100% layouts and grids, go out of your comfort zone and use abstract art for designing, and bring in only 5-10% of an element to be in grid, that’s where neatness strikes. Note closely, the abstract quotes in the design below, may look like they are not following any layout, yet there is a grid that is holding them together, with colors used to focus in a hierarchy. Will update this post with more examples.

Resemblance is impeccable in these shots of day to day emojis. Swiss photographer Matthieu Lavanchy must have had a great time taking these shots, Putting in right direction, angle to be precise, lighting is such so the shadows do not over power and stay calm. Picking the right objects and the perfect background that complements them. I am looking forward to seeing more emojis to come alive, till then you can follow his works on instagram. 🍑 🍌 ☕️ 🥑 🍆 🧀 This type of control one must have when they photograph something. Keep creating and enjoy! I have been around for quite a while, and to be honest I do not get amused or entertained very easily. I am a hard-ass when it comes to liking someone's work and appreciate it for real. Specially, when its something created with such delicacy by this amazing creative Reina Takahashi, who's a Paper Artist and an illustrator. You can say I fell in love with her work at the first sight. Just look at her series of handcrafted paper artworks, they are delicious! 😍 I was drooling with the feeling of inspirational hunger. 🤤 Now she has been doing a 'daily' project on her instagram called 100 Paper Breakfasts. Here are just a few of them, for more.. follow her! Me being a foodie I can only wish to have same yummy breakfast every morning. For now I would just print-out her works and put on my wall for inspiration. Enjoy and stay creative.
