The word Raazi means 'Willing'. Whether you are or not, but the movie really takes a toll on what it portrays. The Director, Meghna Gulzar has directed some old number of movies, Talvar was my personal favorite, with Irrfan Khan as lead role, it did get have a touch of real acting. Coming back to Raazi, starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal really couldn’t go afar. I fell almost asleep, but had to finish my pop-corns and drink.
Its was like ’patriotism’ and ‘girl power’ were in the same room trying to portray how smart the lead actress gradually becomes and ends up realizing she had made a big mistake!? Really, that doesn’t seem like anything. It seems the “the Johar group" and "producers", were trying to showcase Alia’s acting as 'the best' one could ever get to watch. Well.. nope. She has a loooooooong a** time to go. On the other hand media is trying to connect ‘her acting’ to Bollywood legends. Rubbish. Vicky din't get to do much, other than paid to kiss. Story-wise, it was all very much predictable. (as I said, I almost fell asleep) Not to forget, the trailer did most of the talking, even before the movie was released. STILL Bollywood doesn’t understand how to make trailers. I wish I could guide them. More-over songs felt like they were pushed in the movie to continue with the Bollywood old habits. Well all-in-all, this movie could have been better, IF they had used instrumental music with less dialogues, editing-out or cutting-out most of the common-sense parts, making the movie short(est ever). Sad but I would only give 2 stars out of 10. That too coz Alia is cute.
