Rasipuram Krishnaswami Iyer Laxman was an Indian cartoonist, illustrator, and humorist. He was best known for his creation The Common Man and for his daily cartoon strip, "You Said It" in The Times of India, which started in 1951. For a very long time, been following up his works. Since childhood, used to wait for the next day's newspaper eagerly just to get a glimpse of what he had made. It was an extremely inspiring experience while trying to replicate his works, and learn from each stroke he had put in to create his simplified cartoons. I find myself lucky to have one of his limited edition printed book 'The Times of India - Faces - A Millennium Series - Through the eyes of R.K.Laxman'. Which I had fought over and cried like a baby to have it bought over the internet for ₹400, when it was re-launched in year 2000. It was basically a collection of drawings of those who shaped Indian history until 50 years or Independence of India. From Prime Ministers of India, Chief Ministers, Leaders Abroad to some popular Geniuses, all were illustrated brilliantly in that 156 pages + Cover Book.
Printed by Silverpoint Press Pvt Ltd (Mumbai) Designed by Madan Patil, Thomas Abreo and Nishikant S Prabhukhanolkar Edited by Kumar Ketkar and Published by Pradeep Guha Now at the end will leave with the note of Thanks for Sharing your views and illustrations, It's been a pleasure. Rest in Peace
